Barbara Fincher lives near Ridgeway, South Carolina in Fairfield County, but has long considered Kershaw County home. Barbara is a veteran of The Women’s Army Corps and served during the VietNam War assigned to the Military District of Washington. After moving to South Carolina with her military husband, Barbara attended Midlands Technical College earning an Associate degree in Ornamental Horticulture and then earned a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of South Carolina. Barbara is the mother of four beautiful daughters; Kara Myers, Kathy Cassady, Kate Peake and Morgan Bravo. Barbara is the grandmother to twelve and great-grandmother to one with two little ones on the way! Barbara is a new artist. Her first experience with painting was attending a few paint parties, but on the first day of COVID lockdown, she picked up a canvas and paint that had been left at her house and started painting. Barbara is primarily self-taught and learns more everyday. Barbara enjoys painting landscapes, flowers, animals, birds and portraits of Jesus and Mary.
