Trojahn, Horst

Asan immigrant from Europe, the love of art was conveyed to me by my father. Other artists that influenced me were Robert Wood and Norman Rockwell. My art usually communicates a story, a fond memory, a thought, or a feeling from my heart.  It is not so much about the technique or talent/ability, but the joy of contributing to the viewer a blessing, if just for the moment.  I can spend hours in an art gallery, carried along by the creative inspiration of others. I am a realist, and oil paints are my first love into the world of art.  Oils are so versatile and inspire me to seek new techniques and effects.  The South Carolina lowcountry and our beautiful mountains inspire me with endless ideas and hours of joy, from one snow white canvas to the next.
